A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Environmentalist to join its Risk Management team in Pretoria, South Africa. You will own water use licensing, environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across multiple operations.

You will engage with regulatory authorities, manage risks and ensure compliance with the National Water Act and related authorisations. The role requires 3–5 years in environmental compliance and a valid SA drivers license.

Formación

• BTech, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Water Resource Management or related field.
• 3-5 years’ experience in environmental compliance, water use licensing or risk management.
• Strong understanding of National Water Act, Water Use Licences and environmental frameworks.
• Experience with government departments and regulatory bodies.
• Strong report writing, auditing and environmental assessment skills.
• Valid Code EB driver’s licence and SA permanent resident status.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Water Use Licence (WUL) applications, renewals and compliance.
• Liaise with DWS, consultants and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site assessments and recommendations on water management.
• Oversee environmental risk and compliance programmes.
• Coordinate internal and external environmental audits.
• Monitor water quality sampling, testing and reporting.
• Represent organisation in public participation processes and training.
