SUMMARY:
Warehouse Supervisor (Sales and Marketing)
POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate is a hands-on warehouse leader with a strong grip on stock control, SAP know-how, and a knack for problem-solving under pressure. They''re driven, detail-obsessed, and thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments where planning and people skills go hand in hand.
Purpose:
To plan, implement, and supervise warehousing operations within the Sales and Marketing department, ensuring production targets, service agreements, and customer demand requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee weekly cycle counts and monthly stocktakes
- Apply FIFO and LOS principles in all stock handling
- Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions
- Manage stock control procedures and improve efficiencies
- Ensure accurate storage, labelling, and handling of non-conforming stock
- Collaborate with Planning and Production for verification of goods
- Control damaged stock and manage consignment protocols
- Maintain data integrity in SAP and related systems
- Manage credit notes, returns, invoicing, and scrap tracking
- Order and manage stock of stationery and PPE
- Ensure completion of safety checklists and incident reports
- Enforce compliance with company procedures and regulations
- Report departmental risks and implement preventative measures
- Uphold health and safety standards in all warehouse activities
- Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Represent the warehouse team in relevant meetings
- Resolve operational challenges proactively
- Ensure performance agreements are in place and appraisals conducted
- Identify training needs and support staff development
- Address employee relations issues in collaboration with HR
- Support budget planning and ensure spending stays within limits
- Monitor and report variances to the warehouse budget
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
Minimum experience and qualifications:
- Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (NQF 5)
- Up to 5 years in warehousing, logistics, inventory or stock control in a manufacturing environment
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP/ERP systems
- Solid knowledge of warehousing, logistics, and planning practices
