The Warehouse Supervisor contributes to the delivery of a smooth and efficient warehouse and logistics service through the supervision of the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the movement and storage of stock in the warehouse, including routing of stock to appropriate areas, receipt, and recording of accurately completed goods received vouchers, logging inventory transactions, and ensuring goods are safely stored.
- Organizing retrieval, filling of shipments, dispatch, and delivery of goods, ensuring complete and accurate supporting documentation is in place and filed.
- Recommending and implementing measures, including lean operational practices, to improve service quality and increase efficiency of warehouse operations, work crews, and equipment performance.
- Ensuring client specifications are met and that standard operating procedures and systems are maintained.
- Developing and adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands and implementing plans to enhance daily workflow.
- Maintaining a healthy, safe, clean, and secure warehouse environment, identifying potential risks, and implementing safety measures.
- Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehouse activities by developing work instructions for tasks like dispatch, collection, and safe delivery of goods.
- Developing relationships with internal teams to ensure seamless and quality service to clients.
- Coaching, training, and leading work teams to achieve performance goals related to receiving, processing, storage, order assembly, or loading.
- Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and company regulations.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent; diploma advantageous.
- 5 years' experience in warehouse operations, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of warehouse management and transportation.
