The Warehouse Supervisor is a pivotal figure in ensuring smooth and efficient operations in the warehouse environment. They are responsible for managing multiple key daily functions in the warehouse, contributing to overall efficiency, safety, and productivity.
This role requires leadership, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills to maintain productivity and organization in the warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager must always work closely together to ensure that processes are adhered to and standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for signing off daily orders, Inter-Branch Transfers (IBT's), returns, and any other goods being dispatched from the warehouse, ensuring accuracy in picking and checking.
Monitoring the daily order picking process and inbound operations to ensure accuracy with minimum variance and stock damage.
Processing GRV's daily for any goods received from suppliers, ensuring that stock is received accurately into the system with correct cost prices and quantities.
Processing Return to Suppliers when required (RTS).
Creating & Receiving Inter Branch Transfer (IBT's) on the system.
Assisting with daily cycle counts, monthly or quarterly stock counts, variance investigations, and write-offs of any discontinued, expired, or damaged stock.
Stock control management – minimizing stock variances in the warehouse.
Maintaining accurate records of inventory, orders, and shipments, and regularly reporting on warehouse performance.
Supervising Warehouse Staff - delegating and assigning tasks, ensuring that tasks are being prioritized correctly, training employees, and evaluating performance.
Utilization of warehouse space to achieve peak efficiency.
Monitoring the quality of stock in the warehouse.
Liaising with store managers, suppliers, and stakeholders when necessary.
Enforcing housekeeping and Organizational Health & Safety (OHS).
Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Act.
Ensuring that all staff adhere to the Company's Health and Safety programme.
May be required to perform general tasks according to the company's requirements.
Experience and Education:
Matric Essential.
Relevant Tertiary Qualifications – Advantageous.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
