Job summary

Newrest in Cape Town is seeking a capable warehouse handler to manage daily warehouse operations, ensure rosters are completed on time, and oversee unpacking, picking, and stock control.

You will liaise with the clearing team, ensure FIFO, report stock in the customer portal, and prepare customs paperwork. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a focus on safety to keep the warehouse organized and compliant.

Responsibilities

• Roster is completed on time.
• Daily management of the warehouse team (unpacking of shipments/picking of the orders).
• Stock count conducted according to client schedules.
• Stock count captured in the customer's portal.
• Stock issued reported on the customer's portal.
• Check shipments received (qty vs packing list) and report issues.
• Report zero-stock items in the warehouse.
• Label incoming shipments as per customs regulation.
• Liaise with the clearing team for receipt of shipments.
• Ensure FIFO is followed when issuing stock.
• Warehouse kept clean and tidy.
• Communicate with the team at Newrest unit on picking status and delivery time.
• Prepare paperwork for customs entry (XES).
• Ensure the team works safely (fall from height, lifting heavy boxes, forklift accidents).

• Ensurethat the warehouse is clean and tidy.
• Communicatewith the team based at Newrest unit on the picking status and delivery time ofthe order.
• Sendthe paperwork for the customs entry (XES).
• Ensurethat the team is working smart and in a safe manner (fall from height, liftingof heavy boxes, accident with the forklift).
