Purpose of the Role
  • The Warehouse Operator responsible for Loose Case and Layer picking is tasked with accurately selecting, packing, and counting products based on specific picking instructions. They play a crucial role in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, maintaining accuracy, quality, and safety standards. Their efforts support smooth warehouse operations and aim to meet customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform loose case and layer picking activities by accurately selecting and gathering the required products according to instructions.
  • Pack the items securely, using appropriate packaging materials, labels, and adhering to quality standards.
  • Ensure pallet stability during picking, transit, and delivery.
  • Count and verify picked items for accuracy and completeness.
  • Report out-of-stock or short-picked items during the process.
  • Use picking equipment efficiently to locate products within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with inventory control to maintain accurate records and report discrepancies.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to promote efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Report product or packaging issues, such as damages or incorrect labels.
  • Participate in training to improve skills and stay updated on procedures.
  • Follow SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and wear PPE as required.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety compliance.
  • Operate within safety standards and contribute to team goals.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG retail industry.
  • Valid Electric Pallet Jack License.
