Join an international logistics company as their next Warehouse Operations Manager for Contract Logistics.
POSITION INFO :
Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager, this is an exciting role for an individual who is passionate about contract logistics and has extensive experience within this field.
While managing the warehouse staff, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and supervising the workflow in a warehouse.
- Ensuring that all products, items, or materials received are sorted, labeled, and stored in an orderly fashion according to company policies and standards.
- Issuing lists of incoming shipments and items and handing them to receiving personnel.
- Planning and organizing cargo and items at proper places in a warehouse.
- Assisting warehouse employees with their tasks when necessary.
- Hiring and providing training for new employees.
- Maintaining and managing inventories accurately.
- Creating awareness of system and procedural changes with employees.
- Ensuring all workload is planned before execution.
- Ensuring that all sub-contractors are aware of specific requirements in your planning process.
- Ensuring all staff is properly attired with PPEs.
- Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements.
- Managing staff discipline.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the clients' requirements.
- Ensuring that cargo is received and stored as per procedure.
- Ensuring that cargo is handled with utmost care.
- Upon receipt of cargo, recording all damages as per procedure (including recording and photographs).
- Minimizing costs at all times.
- Minimizing theft of cargo.
- Ensuring no cargo is damaged whilst in Rhenus' care.
- Ensuring that the warehouse is kept neat and tidy at all times.
- Making sure that all cargo in the warehouse has stock.
- Conducting stock counts and cycle counts.
- Bond store management.
- Equipment management and care.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience within a logistics environment, specifically in warehousing.
5 years of experience in warehouse management.
A working knowledge and understanding of the impact on other areas within a branch.
Matric / Grade 12.
Cargowise system knowledge is an advantage.
