About Lumax Energy:
Lumax Energy is a leader in engineered solar mounting structures, delivering reliable, high-performance solutions across Africa. Our warehouse forms the backbone of our operation — fast-paced, steel-focused, and precision-driven. We're looking for a hands-on Warehouse Manager to take charge of our operations and keep things moving like clockwork.
The Role:
We're not looking for a clipboard manager. We're looking for someone who knows what it's like to manage steel stock, long extrusions, fast-moving parts, and the daily grind of a busy production-linked warehouse. You'll lead a team of 30+ people, oversee order dispatch, stock control, and quality, and be the go-to person for ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely — day in and day out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily picking, packing, and dispatch of steel components and accessories
- Control stock levels, oversee regular counts, and eliminate loss and theft
- Maintain accurate records using ERP systems and manual checks
- Drive warehouse housekeeping — clean, safe, and organised is non-negotiable
- Lead and manage warehouse staff: delegate, monitor, and hold accountable
- Work closely with logistics to ensure timely movement of goods
- Maintain ISO 9001 documentation and ensure compliance across operations
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements with speed and precision
- Promote a strong health and safety culture — equipment, PPE, and procedures
- Operate and oversee heavy machinery use (e.g. forklifts, cranes)
- Perform ad hoc duties as required to support business needs
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing a busy warehouse in the steel, manufacturing, or engineering sector (minimum 3-5 years)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead from the front and get stuck in
- Confident using ERP systems and managing real-time stock movements
- Experience managing high-volume smalls alongside large, heavy stock items
- ISO 9001 knowledge and quality control awareness
- Safety-first mindset — must know how to run a clean, compliant operation
- Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, or business (preferred but not essential if experience is solid)
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Work best in high-pressure, high-output environments
- Understand steel/aluminium handling, packing, safety risks, and storage
- Can keep staff focused, productive, and accountable
- Are naturally organised and solutions-oriented
What We Offer:
- A dynamic and collaborative work environment
- Opportunities for growth and development in the renewable energy industry
- Exposure to exciting projects and warehouse management challenges
