Job summary

DP World in South Africa operates a comprehensive warehousing and logistics function to drive inbound and outbound processes. This role oversees teams, resources and procedures to achieve operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction, within policy and regulatory requirements.

The position requires significant experience in warehousing and logistics, with proven leadership in managing operations, planning and performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or Similar.
• Honours Degree in Supply Chain Management or Similar.

Responsibilities

• Define standard operating procedures and implement and manage end to end process.
• Monitor and report on progress against operational plans and make adjustments where required.
• Formulate a plan which includes milestones and priorities to deliver on operational objectives.
• Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
• Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values.
• Manage, monitor and report on budget variances in order to maximise financial performance.
• Plan, manage and monitor initiatives to ensure customer service excellence.
• Manage all warehouse assets.
• Manage stock usage decision and the stock put aways process.
• Manage the Stock Control process.
• Manage stock picking process.
• Manage stock receiving process
• Review and manage the stock load plan.

Job description

To manage the processes, teams and resources that ensure effective and efficient control of inbound and outbound logistics in a warehouse, contributing to operational effectiveness, client/customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability and compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements.

• 8 years of experience in warehousing/logistics environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience.
• Understanding how to effectively plan and manage business operating including service delivery.
• Knowledge of warehouse operation
