Warehouse Manager – R25k / month – JHB – Perm – Start asap – Open to all
POSITION INFO :
Our well-established client in the hydraulic industry is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly to the MD and CFO, overseeing receiving, warehousing, workshop, and distribution operations, as well as maintaining general housekeeping of warehouses and workshops.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implementing operational policies and procedures, conducting weekly meetings with warehouse staff.
- Overseeing security operations.
- Controlling inventory levels through regular physical counts and data reconciliation.
- Managing physical inventory and minimizing slow-moving stock.
- Maintaining warehouse condition through layout planning, equipment inspection, and proper stock allocation.
- Ensuring safe and effective use of warehouse equipment.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring staff safety.
- Motivating and disciplining staff as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of warehouse activities.
- Monitoring fleet vehicle conditions and locations.
- Supervising daily warehouse tasks and personnel schedules.
- Ensuring prompt processing of orders, dispatch, and delivery.
- Communicating delivery delays to sales staff and prioritizing customer orders for quick delivery.
- Sorting, labeling, and storing received items according to company standards.
- Preparing incoming shipment lists and conducting weekly inventory verifications.
- Managing outgoing shipment lists based on requests.
- Assigning work schedules, including overtime and weekend work.
- Assisting staff with tasks and training new employees.
- Liaising with customers regarding storage capacity and policies.
- Providing regular inventory reports to customers.
- Reviewing and adapting warehouse operations to align with shipping schedules.
- Conducting regular inspections of warehouse, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Collaborating with management on health and safety policies and meetings.
- Ensuring emergency equipment is functional and safety procedures are followed.
- Overseeing workshop operations, including job cards, receiving goods, and invoicing.
- Issuing inventory to the workshop and maintaining cleanliness and safety in workshop areas.
- Managing purchasing functions: assessing demand, sourcing suppliers, receiving quotations, placing orders, tracking shipments, verifying invoices, and maintaining records.
- Fostering coordination among departments.
Minimum requirements :
- Tertiary qualification
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Experience with cross-border logistics, imports/exports, duties, and procedures
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Hydraulic equipment experience preferred
