Job summary

Absolute Pets in Kempton Park (Johannesburg) is seeking a Warehouse Driver with 8-ton truck experience to join our logistics team. You will ensure timely deliveries to stores and manage loading/unloading per the route schedule, starting by 09:00 each weekday.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and accurate IBT document handling. You will work both independently and as part of a team, supporting warehouse operations and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Code 10 with PDP active.
• Proven work experience as a delivery vehicle driver.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with loading and unloading goods and route planning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely deliveries to stores as per route schedule.
• Leave the warehouse by 09H00 every morning, Monday to Friday.
• Load vehicle in an organised manner according to route schedule.
• Verify food items during loading and delivery to stores.
• Ensure correct stock delivered and stores inspect deliveries with driver present.
• Minimise damages during loading and offloading.
• Report discrepancies to the warehouse manager.
• Check and verify stock returned to warehouse via IBT document.
• Keep delivery vehicle neat and tidy.
• Report vehicle damages or breakages to warehouse manager.
• Uphold company values and assist with other warehouse duties.

Specialising in premium pet foods and accessories, Absolute Pets is the leading pet retailer in South Africa with over 200 stores across the country.

Our team of experts is looking for a Warehouse Driver with 8 Ton truck experience to join the Absolute Pets team at the warehouse in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

If you want to join our team, these are a few of the key areas that you will need to be responsible for:

• Ensure timely deliveries to stores as per the route schedule.
• Ensure that the vehicle leaves the warehouse by no later than 09H00 every morning (Mondays to Fridays).
• Ensure that the vehicle is loaded in an organised manner according to the delivery route schedule for the day.
• Ensure that all food items are checked and verified upon loading of the vehicle.
• Ensuring correct stock is delivered to the specific stores and that the stores check all food items delivered upon delivery in the presence of the truck driver.
• Minimize the damages by careful handling of products during loading and offloading.
• Report all discrepancies that are found during the delivery route to the warehouse manager.
• Ensure that all stock returned to the warehouse is checked and verified as correct according to the IBT document. All stock discrepancies must be noted on the IBT.
• The delivery vehicle must be kept neat and tidy at all times.
• Any vehicle damages or breakages must be reported to the warehouse manager as soon as possible.
• Behave and perform their duties and responsibilities in a manner that upholds The Company values.
• Assist in any other general warehouse duties as per operational needs.
