Job summary

A leading manufacturer and supplier of metal products seeks a Warehouse Break Bulk Controller for their Germiston location. Qualifications

  • 5 years’ warehouse / stock control experience required.
  • 1 year experience with 'break bulk cargo' preferred.
  • Ability to work in a very pressurized environment.

Job description

Leading manufacturer and supplier of metal products has a position for a Warehouse Break Bulk Controller. This position is based in Germiston, Industries West.

The ideal candidate will preferably have the skills and acumen of the following :

  • Tracking shipments and addressing any delays (local and exports via road freight)
  • Supervising approximately 20 warehouse staff and daily activities
  • Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity to management
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of orders to customers
  • Preparing and completing "break bulk orders" for delivery and pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Receiving and processing warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Dealing with freight forwarding companies
  • Performing inventory controls and maintaining high quality standards for audits
  • Keeping a clean and safe working environment and optimizing space utilization and housekeeping
  • Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching, and assuring the quality of goods
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory and storage areas
  • Working with highly flexible hours (retail, December peak, etc.)

Qualifications required :

  • Matric, Diploma / Certificate in warehousing, logistics, or similar
  • 5 years’ warehouse / stock control experience
  • 1 year experience with "break bulk cargo"
  • Computer literacy on ERP systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • High stress tolerance and ability to work in a very pressurized environment
