Job description

A vacancy exists for a Ward Secretary / Clerk position based at Life Wilgers Hospital, reporting to the Trauma Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the optimal functioning of the nursing team through effective interdepartmental liaising, communication, and administrative support.

Critical Outputs
  • Ensure optimal service levels and strive to meet targets.
  • Execute non-nursing activities efficiently and promptly.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and in-service training.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Be familiar with emergency plans and procedures.
  • Reduce medico-legal risks by proper documentation and filing of patient records.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor within and outside the hospital.
  • Provide friendly and helpful client service.
  • Uphold quality principles.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all interactions.
  • Ensure effective communication between patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Vaccination certificate required.
