Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Ward Clerk reporting to the Paeds/NICU Ward Unit Manager, Nontobeko Dlamini. The successful candidate will support the nursing team by ensuring effective communication, administrative support, and interdepartmental liaising.

Critical Outputs
  • Ensure optimal service levels and strive to meet targets.
  • Execute non-nursing activities swiftly and effectively.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and in-service training.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Be familiar with emergency plans and procedures.
  • Reduce medico-legal risks by correctly managing patient documentation.
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior within and outside the hospital.
  • Provide friendly and helpful client service.
  • Uphold the hospital's Quality principles.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all contacts.
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, clients, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 Senior Certificate
  • At least 1 year of general administrative experience
