Job description

Job Title: Waitron at ANEW Hotel Greenpoint

ANEW Hotel Greenpoint is seeking a bubbly Waitron to assist with taking orders, serving, and upselling food and beverages to guests.

The ideal candidate will create a positive first impression, exceed customer expectations through efficient and friendly service, demonstrate good knowledge of the menu, and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Location: Western Cape, Cape Town

Minimum Requirements
  1. Matric (Grade 12) certificate; a hospitality qualification is desirable
  2. At least one year of waiter experience in a 3- or 4-star property within the hospitality industry
  3. Restaurant experience
  4. Knowledge of PlusPoint systems and procedures
  5. High level of customer service, disciplined, organized, with attention to detail
  6. Self-motivated and ambitious
  7. Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
Responsibilities
  1. Greet customers politely upon entry, projecting a hospitable, friendly, and warm attitude
  2. Explain menu items, including preparation, ingredients, and presentation; practice suggestive selling to enhance customer experience and increase sales
  3. Input orders accurately into PlusPoint
  4. Adhere to cash handling and money procedures
  5. Set up and reset conference venues, including decorations, condiments, napkins, utensils, and ensuring tables are cleaned
  6. Bid farewell to guests and invite them to return
