Assistant Waiter / Waitress (M / W) - Be The Hero In The Restaurant

ANEW Hotel OR Tambo is looking for bubbly Waitrons that will assist in taking orders, serving, and up-selling food and beverage to guests.

Create a good first impression, exceeding customer expectations through efficient delivery and friendly service with a great attitude and good knowledge of the menu, creating results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the company.

The successful candidate will be based in Gauteng, Benoni.

Minimum Requirements

1. Matric (Grade 12) certificate, with a hospitality qualification is desirable.
2. At least one year plus waiter experience within the hospitality industry in 3- & 4-star properties.
3. Must have restaurant experience.
4. Knowledge of Plus point systems and procedures.
5. High level of customer service, disciplined, organized, and attention to detail essential.
6. High degree of self-motivation and ambition.
7. Must be able to work shifts, nights, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greet customers politely as they enter the restaurant, projecting a hospitable, polite, friendly, warm, and smiling attitude to all employees and customers.
2. Explain the menu items in terms of preparation, ingredients, and presentation; practice suggestive selling skills to improve average spend per head and customer experience.
3. Input orders on Plus point.
4. Adhere to company cash and all money handling procedures.
5. Re-set and prepare conference venues for customers including decorations, condiments, napkins, utensils, and clean tables.
6. Bid guests farewell and invite them back to the hotel upon departure.
