Job description

Hire Resolve’s Client is urgently looking for a VP Legal and Compliance to be based at their corporate offices in Gauteng!

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Drive and implement legal and compliance strategies aligned with the organisation’s corporate vision, ensuring ethical governance and principled conduct across the SA Region.
  • Legal Advisory & Risk Management: Oversee the delivery of holistic legal services across operational, commercial, regulatory, and human capital matters, mitigating risk and ensuring business alignment.
  • Compliance Framework & Governance: Develop, implement, and scale regional compliance policies, procedures, and capabilities that align with group-wide standards and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Team & Capability Development: Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing Legal & Compliance team, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication, alignment, and effective representation of the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Level 7: Bachelors of Laws (LLB)
  • 15 years’ experience in a similar position, of which 5 years should be a Senior Level
  • Advantageous qualification in Mining and Prospecting, Health and Safety / Environmental Law
  • Relevant experience in a mining environment
