Overview
The main purpose of a Visual Merchandiser for a luxury brand is to create visually compelling and immersive retail environments that reflect the brand's identity, elevate the customer experience, and drive sales.
This involves curating high-end product displays, ensuring consistency with global brand standards, and strategically using aesthetics—such as lighting, color, layout, and storytelling—to evoke desire, exclusivity, and emotional connection with the clientele.
The implementation of a to do list that is updated, feedback must be sent through weekly. A key aspect of the job is continuous follow up and ensuring implementation.

Duties/ Job Specific Requirements
- Manage Visual Merchandising portfolio for temp/on shelf POSM.
- Ensure consistent implementation of merchandising guidelines by AM\'s
- Ensure synergy between Visual department, Area manager implementation, Brand manager briefing.
- Ensure implementation and correct ordering of current correct POSM, visuals, logo\'s, shelf strips, tester stands.
- Ensure database and updated distribution lists of all implementation POSM is maintained.
- Defend shelf space and identify additional opportunities.
- Identifying additional 2nd POS opportunities
- Feedback on POSM improvements.
- Develop Merchandising guidelines, planograms and implementation requirements.
- Training and Development of AM\'s regarding POS and guidelines
- Ability to photograph and test out prototypes.
- Monthly maintenance of visual library & monthly meetings with area managers.
- Efficient distribution of POSM.
- Assistance with design of basic POSM
- Lead for professional images in trade
- Lead for warehouse management of POSM; Barcoding when required
- Regular upkeep of POSM in the basement (warehouse vs basement)
- Frequent maintenance and updates of brands database, for example brand space in stores.
- Coordination of International POSM from suppliers.
- Follow up implementation of ordered POSM (including tracking and tracking of POSM)
- Accurate and sufficient SOH of POSM in the warehouse
- Identifying any additional market opportunities and escalating
- Competitor Feedback and response
- Biweekly visitation of markets
- Monthly Planning
- Response time to general communication/e-mails/queries/telephonic
- Escalation of issues that cannot be resolved.
- Escalation of build snags from AM\'s to suppliers, with follow ups and final sign offs.
- Executing 3 axe counter visual updates; briefing document, all communication required, approvals and sign offs.
Minimum Requirements
- Proficiency in MS office and excel.
- 2-5 years Visual merchandizing background.
- Grade 12 matric pass.
- Merchandising skills.
- Design knowledge/work experience.
- basic understanding of VM/visual/design.
- Organisational skills and efficient time management.
- Able to multitask.
- Ability to work in high pressure and fast paced environment
- Attention to detail.
