Job summary

Eastern Cape Government is seeking a security officer to perform access control, determine what appointments or services visitors require, and guide them to the correct service delivery point. You will complete admission control registers, issue admission documents/cards, and escort visitors as required.

The role requires a National Senior Certificate, PSIRA Grade C registration, a valid driver’s license, and 0–2 years’ work experience.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate is required.
• Basic security officer’s course Grade C registered with PSIRA.
• Valid driver’s license and 0–2 years’ work experience.
• Preference will be given to youth, African female.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of access control procedures.
• Knowledge of measures of control and movement of equipment & stores.
• Knowledge of admission control and visitor management procedures.
• Knowledge of prescribed security prescripts and procedures.
• MISS, MPSS, Protection of Information Act, and OHS Act awareness.
