Placements24 in Gauteng's Soweto seeks a Principal Architect to shape large-scale mixed-use developments, spanning residential, commercial, retail and public spaces. Lead the design direction and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver urban-scale projects with sustainability at the core.

You will act as the primary architect and client representative, driving master plans, technical documentation, and stakeholder engagement with government bodies and communities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in architectural practice, with focus on leading mixed-use developments.
• Strong design leadership and urban planning knowledge.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; ability to guide technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of large-scale mixed-use developments.
• Provide strategic design leadership and technical oversight across all project phases.
• Mentor project teams and foster design excellence and collaboration.
• Act as primary architect and client representative, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Oversee master plans, architectural designs, technical docs, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with urban planning regulations, codes, and sustainability standards in SA.
• Engage government agencies, developers, community groups, and consultants.
• Manage project risks, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
• Champion innovative design and sustainable development practices.
• Represent the firm in client meetings and industry events in Soweto.
