Job description

We’re Hiring: Video Journalists (Fashion, Business, or Sport)

Remote (South Africa) | Part-Time | Internship/Freelance

Ideal for aspiring journalists, media students & creators

About Board Media:

Board is Africa’s boldest new media startup — blending the pulse of the streets with the sharpness of Vice and the edge of Hypebeast. We cover culture, business, fashion, tech, music, and sport through an unapologetically local lens.

What we’re looking for (right now):

Video Journalists to cover:

  • Sport – Local leagues, viral athletes, fan culture
  • Business – Startup news, finance trends, hustle stories
  • Fashion – SA streetwear, global collabs, local designers

Your mission:

  • Record raw 1–2 minute video reports on your topic (we’ll handle editing)
  • Pitch weekly stories that matter to South African & African youth
  • Stay ahead of local and global trends in your space

You should be:

  • Confident on camera (natural, articulate, passionate)
  • Plugged into African culture & trends
  • Armed with a smartphone that shoots clean 1080p video

How to Apply:

Fill out our form: [Insert Google Form Link]

Submit a short, 1-minute test video talking about a story in sport, business, or fashion (raw, unedited is perfect)

Send it to: board.daily.sa@gmail.com

This is unpaid (for now), but it’s a great portfolio-building opportunity with room to grow. No editing skills needed — just your voice, perspective, and phone camera.

Ready to be the next voice of African media? Apply now. Let’s build something powerful.
