Job summary

Western Cape Government is seeking a reliable driver to operate light and medium vehicles, transporting passengers and documents as required. The role also provides clerical support in the relevant office and requires accurate logbook maintenance.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo vetting, assessments, and must have a valid Code B driving licence with PrDP. A Junior Certificate or equivalent qualification is required, along with at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Code B (or higher) driving licence with PrDP.
• At least 1 year relevant driving/clerical experience.
• Junior Certificate or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Drive light and medium motor vehicles to transport passengers and deliver items.
• Monitor and record routine vehicle maintenance and report defects timely.
• Complete records and logbooks for vehicle and goods handled.
• Provide clerical support/messenger service in the relevant office.
• Collect and deliver documentation and related items in the department.
• Assist with registry, stationery, scanning, emailing, and photocopies.
• Assist with preparing for monitoring visits and asset verification.
