The role involves conducting assessments, offering individual and group counseling, educating on relapse prevention, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or certification in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field.
• Professional registration with a recognised counselling body (e.g., HPCSA).
• Experience as a Substance Abuse Counselor or similar clinical role.
• Strong knowledge of addiction treatment modalities and recovery principles.
• Excellent counseling, active listening, and empathy skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to determine substance use issues and treatment needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with evidence-based approaches.
