Job Title: Vendor Manager

Amazon is hiring a Vendor Manager (VM) to enhance the customer experience in Africa.

Role Overview: We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, analytical, and creative candidate to collaborate with strategic vendor partners, developing and managing their business. The role involves executing joint business plans to improve value, selection, and convenience across vendor portfolios.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Acting as the 'business owner' for subcategories and vendors, understanding internal and external factors affecting the business.
  2. Managing forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on subcategories and vendors, and leading supply chain projects and promotions.
  3. Negotiating costs, promotions, and business inputs independently.
  4. Conducting pricing and ROI analysis to optimize profit margins.
  5. Managing Purchase Orders and in-stock analysis.
  6. Optimizing online product presence and content.
  7. Developing marketing plans to increase awareness and sales.
  8. Driving cross-category initiatives for operational improvements.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree.
  • Has experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotions, and inventory management.
  • Has managed large data sets to improve performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in account management, project management, or buying.
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
