A leading company involved in scientific research and development seeks a maintenance technician to ensure timely and quality maintenance of equipment and structures at its Cape Town site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various repairs, inspections, and will uphold health and safety standards while working in a dynamic environment.
The National Research Foundation (NRF) supports research and human capital development through funding, provision of National Research Facilities, and science outreach programs across all fields of science and technology, including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities.
The South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) leads South Africa's involvement in the Square Kilometre Array Radio Telescope (SKA), focusing on engineering, science, and construction.
SARAO, managed by the NRF, includes radio astronomy instruments and programs such as the MeerKAT and KAT-7 telescopes in the Karoo, the Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory (HartRAO) in Gauteng, and the African Very Long Baseline Interferometry (AVN) program across nine African countries. It also engages in human capital development and commercialization efforts.
The primary purpose of this role is to perform timely and quality planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on all equipment and buildings at SARAO Sites in Cape Town.
