Who Are We Looking For

We are seeking an experienced UX / UI DESIGNER to join our team and lead the creative direction within our projects. The ideal candidate should have strategic thinking skills, be able to conceptualise, problem-solve, and manage stakeholder conversations from initial sales to project completion. They should ensure that all designs align with client business requirements and project objectives.

At Bluegrass, we primarily use Figma for design. Deep experience with Figma is essential, as creating beautiful, modern, and highly creative UI designs is our main focus. Our team has strong UX expertise to support the UX process.

You will work closely with our Head of Product and Solutions Director and will be supported throughout your projects.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar creative software development or product development environment
• Design-related qualifications
• Proven experience conducting design workshops and interacting with clients to understand project requirements and business problems
• Experience structuring and architecting Figma projects
• Proficiency in creating modern, creative UI designs for websites and mobile apps within Figma
• Experience with Google’s Material Design system (advantageous)
• Experience implementing Design Systems (advantageous)
• Experience in corporate branding, logos, and CI guidelines (advantageous)
• Ability to write HTML/CSS code (advantageous)
• Experience using JIRA for project management (advantageous)
• Experience with WebFlow (advantageous)
• Ability to design and code HTML mailers (advantageous)
• Ability to create professional branding videos and showreels (very advantageous)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide clients through the creative process

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to scope project requirements and propose solutions
• Support sales with creative pitches to secure new business
• Master Figma and Adobe CC Suite for design tasks
• Create UX wireframes and prototypes using Figma
• Present UX prototypes and UI designs to clients, explaining solutions and achievements
• Stay updated on new design trends for digital, web, and mobile experiences
• Design for Mobile Apps (iOS & Android), considering various screen sizes and orientations
• Recommend and employ Design Systems to improve internal processes, utilizing platforms like www.uxcel.com
• Implement Google’s Material Design guidelines and components
• Create branding assets, logos, and CI style guides
• Assist clients and project managers in theme selection for platforms like WebFlow and WordPress
• Utilize project management tools like JIRA and follow our creative processes
• Provide design estimates for project planning
• Track time logs accurately using Bluegrass tools
• Understanding HTML & CSS to suggest functional design solutions (advantageous)
• Support marketing with website content, social media, and case study assets
• Assist with award submissions and branding videos/showreels
