Main Purpose / Objective of the Position

Focus on optimizing utility costs and recoveries by providing financial, legal, and technical analysis and reporting of utility-related costs.

Also, responsible for the ongoing training and development of the broader team across the utility spectrum.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  1. Conduct financial, legal, and technical analysis and reporting of utility costs and recoveries to ensure accurate monthly reporting.
  2. Proactively identify and drive operational efficiencies.
  3. Research new opportunities in utility management and train the team accordingly.
  4. Analyze and compile data for ESG reporting to clients.
  5. Assist leasing teams with utility-related queries verification and resolution.
  6. Communicate, investigate, and resolve queries via phone, email, and meetings.
  7. Track and maintain benefits from implemented optimization opportunities.

Experience / Education

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification and/or training.
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in the utility field.
  • Knowledge of South African municipal procedures and accounting processes.
  • Experience working with municipal and Eskom tariffs and bylaws.
