Used Car Sales Manager

Carter is looking for a Used Car Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in Bronkhorstspruit.

The role is suited for a highly self-motivated, detail-orientated individual that has good interpersonal skills and has the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a highly experienced, passionate person who is confident in achieving business growth.

The Sales Manager role is to effectively manage and lead this dedicated team. To effectively communicate deliverables in line with Company goals, safety practices and deadlines.

The Sales Manager needs to motivate their team members and track performance on an ongoing basis both weekly & monthly in line with prescribed deliverables using the CRM system and the processes and reporting provided.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing Carter CRM system effectively to perform their role in line with company operating procedures.
  • Utilizing Dealernet (Finance & Insurance) CRM effectively in line with company operating procedures.
  • Keep updated with and ensure applicable Group/ Dealer policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Coaching & Training – providing support to new & existing staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Learning & Development - Identifying training and development needs and opportunities for your staff
  • Ability to manage performance and deal with poor-performance immediately in line with company policy and procedure.
  • To provide effective leadership and people management in order to attract, develop and retain high quality employees.
  • Create a positive work environment and culture to energize employees, give meaning to work, and maximize employee productivity aligned to Carter culture and values.
  • Any ad hoc admin/ other responsibilities as and when required.

  • Pricing trade ins
  • Stock sourcing
  • Manage trade vehicles (Bid4Cars) (Admin/Used) - Only on approved Auction sites no trade sales.
  • Evaluate vehicle
  • Make sure recon on vehicles get completed
  • Manage Sales admins (Natis, dealer stocks etc.)
  • Deal with customer complaints (Direct + Trello board)
  • Manage pipeline (CRM move trade in through nodes)
  • Create opportunities to ensure profitable income.
  • Ensure cost-effective allocation of funds to achieve operational goals within budget.
  • Ensure vehicle gross profit percentage is aligned with the dealership and/ or franchise requirement.
  • Effectively manage vehicle stock and ensure ageing stock are kept to a minimum.
  • Develop and enhance competitive web exposure and engage in social media marketing initiatives with the Marketing Manager.
  • Carrying out market and competitor analyses, setting target parameters (e.g. for pricing), and ensuring these are implemented

This is a full-time role. The role will require 5 days per week commitment and Saturdays.

Interviews will be held in person in Bronkhorstspruit. Only South Africans or individuals with an existing valid South African work permit need apply.

Minimum Requirements
  • Used car management experience > 2 years
  • Proven track record of leading a team to exceed used car sales targets
  • Capable of managing multiple showroom floors.
  • Experience in the Used car end to end process > 2 years
  • Project management – ability to plan/direct and implement a used strategy for the Carter Group.
  • Clear criminal record

Salary
