Used Car Manager

Our client is looking for a Used Car Manager to ensure retention and profitability of the profit centre within OEM approved Programme.

To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the responsibility of appraising, purchasing, setting standards for reconditioning, displaying (Digital) and merchandising the used vehicle inventory.

The ideal candidate combines excellent communication skills with a strategic mindset.

Ultimately, the candidate will ensure their area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to the company's success in the long run.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop and establish an OEM standard User Car Program.
2. Forecast goals and objectives for sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
3. Monitor the performance of all used-vehicle sales programs.
4. Prepare and administer an annual operating forecast and budgets for the used-vehicle sales department.
5. Understand, keep abreast of and comply with national, provincial and local regulations that affect used-vehicle sales.
6. Direct and schedule the activities of all dealer website integration.
7. Assist Dealers in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provide them with the support to meet these goals.
8. Ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting leads sales control system.
9. Develop, implement and monitor a follow-up system for used-vehicle purchasers.
10. Maintain vehicle inventory.
11. Monitor customers' likes and dislikes, lost sales and dealership sales history, and conduct local market analyses to determine which vehicles to stock.
12. Process and check dealer sales tracking.
13. Conduct sales training.
14. Establish and enforce product-knowledge standards.
15. Oversee the efforts of used-vehicle dealerships to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership from an OEM perspective and standard.
16. Track performance of second profit products and campaigns for the OEM.
17. Ensure that dealers are informed of all new inventory and current advertising efforts, including special sales campaigns.
18. Set standards for and evaluate all incoming used OEM vehicles.
19. Ensure that cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning is performed within the dealerships and OEM's cost and time limitations.
20. Set up and monitor standard plans, controls and CI for the display of used vehicles on dealership floors.
21. Establish and control wholesaling activities on OEM level.
22. Establish delivery procedures, sales procedures and evaluation standards, etc.
23. Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
24. Keep abreast of auto auction activity and prices and attend auctions regularly.
25. Approve all paperwork from auctions and provide proper documentation on the Offer to purchase.
26. Ensure logistical arrangements for possible delivery of sold OEM stock.
27. Track results of auction purchases and compare gross profits of auction vehicles.
28. Develop and maintain outside sources (wholesalers and retailers) for both buying and selling of units.
29. Handle customer complaints immediately and according to OEM regulations enforced in dealership.
30. Regular reporting to management.

Requirements:

1. 4-10 Years related experience and/or training.
2. Matric or higher education.
3. Valid Driver's license.

Skills:

1. Ability to read, analyze, create and interpret documents on OEM standard.
2. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
3. Ability to create programs and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
4. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
