Placements24 is hiring an experienced Warehouse Operations Lead for our Upington facility. The role focuses on efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch, while leading a team of warehouse associates to maintain accuracy and safety.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure KPI targets are met, and implement best practices to optimize layout and workflows. Strong WMS knowledge and health and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Proven experience managing a team within a warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to warehouse operations.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with the Northern Cape logistics environment is a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, as required by operational demands.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse operations in Upington, including receiving, inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to procedures and performance standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective cycle counting and stocktaking procedures.
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely dispatch of orders and receipt of incoming goods.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse operations.
• Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and service providers.
