The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with a Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique and at least 5 years of operational theatre experience, with leadership skills and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Registered Nurse with South African Nursing Council registration.
• Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique is required.
• Minimum 5 years operational experience in a Theatre Unit.
• Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic Neurosurgery and/or Ophthalmology advantageous.
• Previous management experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of OHS and legislative requirements.

Aufgaben

• Be operational as well as manage the administrative duties.
• Manage the Theatre Department.

• Ensure adherence to policies and procedures at all times.
• Manage staff according to Basic Conditions of Employment and Disciplinary Code, staffing planning and recruitment and selection.
• Manage day-to-day problem solving.
• Stock and equipment management including ordering.
• Accurate billing of stock utilised.
• Training and development of Theatre staff.
• After hours cover as per a roster.
• Maintain infection control strategies and health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a professional image and discipline.
• Evaluate, intervene and resolve patient complaints and queries.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Manage ad hoc projects as required.

Our Client, a Private Hospital Group in Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal, has a vacancy for a Unit Manager - Theatre to manage the Theatre Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Be operational as well as manage the administrative duties.
2. Manage the Theatre Department.
