Clinix Botshelong-Empilweni Private Hospital, Vosloorus, is seeking a Unit Manager: Theatre to lead theatre services, coordinate nursing teams, and ensure high-quality patient care. The role requires budgeting oversight, staff development, and strict adherence to regulatory standards within a private hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of managerial experience in theatre nursing, current SA Nursing Council registration, and relevant nursing qualifications, including BLS.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualifications and SANC registration are mandatory.
• Operating room nursing qualification required or in progress.
• BLS certification is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Plan, monitor and oversee unit operations for quality patient care.
• Mentor, coach and develop nursing staff and manage the unit budget.
• Ensure adherence to SANC, DOH and National Core Standards.
• Manage ward clerks, RN, EN and ENA roles and responsibilities.

Job Title: Unit Manager: Theatre

Location: Clinix Botshelong-Empilweni Private Hospital (Vosloorus).

JOB SUMMARY

Accountable to plan, monitor, coordinate and oversee the Unit’s operations and processes to ensure quality patient care and the overall running of the unit including but not limited to managing the ward clerks, RN, EN and ENA’s roles and responsibilities. Take responsibility for the mentoring, coaching, training and development of nursing staff and managing the Unit budget and ensuring cost saving and stakeholder engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

• Cur/Diploma in Nursing.
• Diploma or Degree in Operating Room Nursing.
• Nursing Administration qualification.
• Current registration with South African Nursing Council.
• BLS qualification.

Minimum Experience

• 3+ years’ experience at a managerial/supervisory level.
• Experience in Theatre Nursing.
• Experience within a private hospital environment advantageous.

DELIVERABLES

• Perform all duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core Standards.
• Adhere to the principles and standards of Patient Advocacy according to SANC Acts and Omissions, Company Code of Conduct, Patient rights and Responsibility Charter., National Millennium Development goals and responsibility of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
• Promote effective and quality patient care through the application of relevant policies and procedures and efficient management of day-to-day Unit activities.
• Ward administration to ensure compliance with protocols, security, safe patient environment, policies, procedures and the Groups patient care standards.
• Effective Management of cost centre and operational unit activities and processes including control of equipment, tools, stock, to required levels and according to prescribed guidelines.

Manage staff including agency staff and identify and implement quality improvement opportunities.
