Job Description :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Insurance Underwriting Assistant / Office Administrator to join a strong team. This role will involve supporting the underwriting team by assisting with processing insurance applications, gathering necessary documentation, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the individual will provide administrative support for the office, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and enhancing team efficiency.
Assist underwriters in reviewing and processing Insurance applications.
Prepare and maintain underwriting documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Assist in data entry and management of underwriting software and databases.
Monitor and track pending applications and underwriting decisions.
Sending out of renewal invites and monitoring progress of renewals.
Policy endorsement and amendments.
Office Administrator Duties :
Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or individual.
Maintain electronic filing, to organize client records and other important documents.
Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other office-related materials.
Assist co-administrator as needed – this may entail credit transfers, verifications, following up on unmet debits and wherever else necessary.
Skills and Qualification :
High school diploma or equivalent; certificate in business administration, insurance, or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in an administrative role is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to priorities and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
Computer literate, ‘tech-savvy’ and productive with computer work.
Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge and Experience :
Knowledge of insurance terminology and underwriting processes.
Experience with insurance software or management systems.
Customer service experience in a professional setting.
