Short-Term Insurance NQF 5 certification

Regulatory Exam Level 1

Minimum of four years personal underwriting experience

DOFA confirmation from FSB

Cardinal system experience (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain underwriting standards and provide quality client service, including issuing policies, renewals, and endorsements on the C System
  • Prepare new business quotes and underwrite according to standards, policies, and procedures
  • Support sales team in acquiring and retaining profitable business
  • Handle administration and written communication, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization of documentation
  • Resolve queries as per company standards and negotiate renewal terms
  • Complete renewal reviews on time and calculate retentions
  • Monitor survey requirements and correct unprofitable policies
  • Check policies before dispatch and communicate with clients regarding queries or additional covers
  • Maintain all work electronically

Service Delivery

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards to maintain service quality
  • Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints, providing feedback
  • Develop routines aligned with operational plans to meet service delivery goals
  • Participate in creating new standards and procedures to enhance service

People Practices and Continuous Improvement

  • Align behaviour with organisational culture and values
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with the underwriting team
  • Identify and suggest process improvements for organisational effectiveness
