Job summary

South Deep Gold Mine is seeking a Section Surveyor to ensure precision and compliance across the operation. You will oversee regulatory inspections, maintain surveying control networks, and provide expert support to technical and mining teams while driving best practices.

The role requires a Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency, a National Diploma or Degree in Mining Survey or Mineral Resource Management, plus 5 years’ surveying experience (3 in a senior role).

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• National Diploma or Degree in Mining Survey or related discipline.
• Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency (South Africa).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mine surveying with at least 3 years in a Senior position.
• Proficiency in CAD Software (Mine Cad, MineRP CAD, Autodesk, Microstation).

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in, and lead interventions aimed at Zero Harm through compliance with legislation and SHE standards.
• Engage in Visible Felt Leadership aligned to SHE standards and operational campaigns.
• Perform inspections in accordance with MHSA regulations and company standards.
• Maintain surveying control networks across surface and underground assets.
• Oversee calibration and servicing of all survey equipment for accuracy.
• Provide professional service and support to the asset aligning with Mining Services needs.
