Job summary

JVR Software in Mpumalanga Province is seeking a vigilant mining control room operator to monitor underground systems—ventilation, pumping, conveyors, safety and communications—via control room screens and to respond to alarms promptly.

You will coordinate with underground teams, supervisors and engineering, maintain logs and handover reports, and follow emergency response procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Matric with relevant technical or mining control room training, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a mining control room or underground operations.
• Computer literacy and the ability to monitor several systems at once.
• Clear communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor underground systems, such as ventilation, pumping, conveyors, and safety and communication systems, using the control room screens.
• Respond to alarms, and escalate and record faults and emergencies as per procedures.
• Communicate with underground teams, supervisors and engineering by radio or phone.
• Keep accurate logs and shift handover reports.
• Follow emergency response and evacuation procedures.
