Job summary

Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is seeking a Logistics Shiftboss to oversee underground material handling, deliveries, and surface yard operations. The role demands 5 years of underground mining experience, with 3–5 years in mining logistics, and a valid Blasting Certificate.

The successful candidate will lead safe, cost-efficient logistics aligned with production targets. A Mine Overseer Certificate is advantageous, and a Code 08 (B) driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 10/Standard 8 is the minimum educational requirement.
• Permanent Blasting Certificate or National Certificate in Hard Rock Underground is required.
• Shiftboss Certificate is required.
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence is required.
• Mine Overseer Certificate is advantageous for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and control the full logistics and material handling value chain, including underground material delivery, surface yard operations, and safe transport of explosives.
• Ensure safe and cost-effective implementation of mining cycle processes and train staff accordingly.
• Ensure resources (people, equipment) are available to meet production targets safely and cost-effectively.
