Job summary

Gold Fields’ South Deep Gold Mine invites applications for an Underground Boilermaker. You will safely execute maintenance, repair, construction and fabrication on underground and shaft infrastructure, ensuring equipment availability and compliance with safety standards.

Required: Grade 12 or equivalent, a recognized Boilermaker Trade Certificate, with at least 2 years’ shaft maintenance experience; ability to read engineering drawings; medical fitness including heat tolerance screening.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Recognized Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
• 2 years’ shaft maintenance or construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Medical fitness and Heat Tolerance Screening as required by Gold Fields.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety in planning and execution of maintenance tasks.
• Perform inspections in line with Mine Health and Safety Act regulations.
• Contribute to a zero-harm culture by adhering to health, safety, environmental and security policies.
• Promote and develop teamwork as an effective team leader.
• Ensure task planning aligns with Planned Maintenance and condition monitoring standards.
