Job Opportunity: Ultraheavy Motor Vehicle Driver

An opportunity has become available for a high-calibre Ultraheavy motor vehicle driver to distribute goods to various clients.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Grade 10 Literacy level (Verbally and Numerically literate)
• Code EC drivers license with valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum 3 years experience driving an Ultra Heavy Vehicle

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle for trips and operate Ultra heavy duty vehicles
• Load, transport, and offload goods
• Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
• Follow instructions from Supervisor
• Work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Maintain a safe driving record and clean criminal record
• Ensure vehicle and PPE housekeeping
• Adhere to SOPs and Safety Procedures
• Complete necessary training and evaluations (Medical, USCS modules, Induction, Driving evaluation, Criminal record verification)
• Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act
• Oversee or operate offloading equipment
• Secure loads before departure
• Manage tarpaulin operations when applicable
• Interact professionally with customers
• Must be at least 25 years old
• Apply defensive driving techniques and understand vehicle components and emergency procedures
• Conduct vehicle inspections and operate fire extinguishers
• Maximize vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
• Use proper vehicle loading techniques
