Job summary

First Call Education, part of the A24 Group, seeks an Compliance Consultant to own the candidate compliance pipeline from registration to clearance. You will ensure every teacher and support worker meets UK safer-recruitment standards before placement, working to high-volume targets.

The role is office-based in Cape Town with UK-hour availability, offering UK-recruitment experience in a dynamic start-up environment backed by an international group.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in recruitment compliance, vetting or HR administration (UK experience preferred).
• Knowledge of KCSIE, DBS processes and UK right-to-work checks.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation.
• Professional phone manner with UK candidates.
• Capable of handling a high volume of files and meeting clearance targets.
• Strong written English.
• Experience with CRM and compliance systems.
• Willingness to work UK hours.
• Matric is essential; tertiary qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own candidate compliance files from registration to clearance.
• Ensure compliance with KCSIE and DfE safer-recruitment guidance.
• Process and verify DBS checks and update service status.
• Verify right to work and identity documents to UK standards.
• Run visa/qualification checks via TRA where applicable.
• Obtain overseas police certificates as needed.
• Collect and verify references spanning two years.
• Review CVs for gaps and document explanations.
• Encourage candidates to submit documents promptly.
• Maintain accurate, audit-ready records in CRM.
• Collaborate with UK consultants to place compliant candidates.
• Flag risks and renewals before issues arise.
