As technology advances, UAV operations are increasingly vital in various industries, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and data collection.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) GCS (Ground Control Station) Instructor and Technician to join our aviation team in South Africa. This role involves dual responsibilities: delivering UAV GCS training and providing technical support for GCS maintenance and operations. It offers an exciting opportunity to develop UAV capabilities and train operators in South Africa. The position is based in Airport City, Cape Town.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Instructor Duties:

Develop and deliver training programs on UAV GCS, covering operational procedures, software interfaces, telemetry, and communication protocols.

Conduct hands-on training sessions on GCS setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Create instructional materials, including manuals, presentations, and simulations, for effective learning.

Technical Support and Maintenance:

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on UAV GCS hardware and software components.

Ensure GCS systems meet performance standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and improve GCS functionality.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and certifications.

Prepare technical reports on GCS maintenance, repairs, and incidents.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols during training and maintenance tasks.

Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices related to UAV GCS operations and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Aviation, Engineering, Education, or related field.
• 5-10 years of UAV operations experience, specifically with GCS.
• Deep understanding of UAV GCS hardware, software, telemetry, and communication protocols.
• Experience in instructional roles or technical training preferred.
• UAV operations and maintenance certification advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; proficiency with simulation software and training aids.
• Ability to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally; adaptable to evolving technology and training methods; familiarity with South African aviation regulations.
• Own transport required.
