Job summary

NatCarbon Africa is seeking a UAS Quality & Safety Manager for the Spekboom Restoration Project, based in Gqeberha with travel to project sites. The role oversees the QMS and SMS to support the UASOC program, ensuring compliance with SACAA regulations and aviation safety standards.

The position requires building independent audit capabilities, coordinating with regulators, and maintaining documentation while promoting a robust safety culture across field teams and operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aviation, Safety Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Certificates in Quality Management and Safety Management required.
• Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SMS and QMS in line with SACAA Part 101.
• Own and maintain UASOC compliance documentation set.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits of flight operations and records.
• Manage occurrence reporting and track corrective actions to closure.
• Conduct risk assessments for sites, mission types, or aircraft.
• Coordinate with SACAA for inspections and audits.
• Maintain currency and version control of regulatory and operational documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture across field teams.
• Develop, establish and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
