Key accountabilities of the function:

1. To maintain all relevant equipment in good and safe working order so that its designed reliability and availability are achieved.
2. Provide a timely response to equipment breakdowns in order to minimize plant downtime.
3. To analyze the causes of equipment failure and perform fault finding so as to be able to repair any breakdowns and prevent reoccurrence.
4. The timely performance of preventative maintenance work in order to minimize equipment failures.
5. Commissioning of new equipment installed prior to productive use, so that correct installation and operation are ensured.
6. The provision of reliable equipment operating and repair status information to production personnel and maintenance planner.
7. To ensure that all work is performed competently and in accordance with BMW specifications.
8. To ensure that all equipment and work areas are safe at all times to prevent accidents and injury to personnel.
