Job summary

Brilliant Law in the UK invites an A-Player to join its Private Client Trust Management team, servicing UK law firm clients. You will generate fees by managing a varied caseload of trust matters and deliver a Brilliant client experience.

The role requires an LLB, admission as a South African Attorney, 3 years' trust management experience, and case management systems expertise. You will work UK hours and holidays, leveraging technology and AI to stay ahead.

Qualifications

• LLB degree and admission as Attorney.
• At least 3 years' experience in trust management.
• Experience with case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Generate fees by managing a varied caseload of trust matters.
• Prepare deeds of appointment, deeds of retirement, trustee minutes and related documentation.
• Deliver a Brilliant client experience whilst engaging with beneficiaries, trustees, and other third parties.
• Handle trust accounting and tax matters, including Trust and Estate Tax Returns and liaise with HMRC as required.
• Ensure property titles reflect Trustees via TR1 applications in England and Notices of Titles in Scotland.
• Leverage technology and AI to create competitive advantage.
• Stay at the forefront of innovation in the UK Trusts space.

Job description

We are looking for an A-Player to join our UK Private Client Trust Management team, servicing our UK law firm clients. You will generate fees by managing a varied caseload of trust matters. You must be an excellent communicator, proactive, empathetic, tech savvy, and pay attention to detail, to create a Brilliant client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate fees by managing a varied caseload of trust matters.
• Prepare deeds of appointment, deeds of retirement, trustee minutes and related documentation.
• Deliver a Brilliant client experience whilst engaging professionally with beneficiaries, trustees, financial advisors and other third parties, advising them on their duties, powers and obligations under Scots trust law.
• Handle trust accounting and tax matters, including Trust and Estate Tax Returns, and liaise with HMRC as required for 10 year reporting and Exit Reporting.
• Ensuring property titles are updated to properly reflect Trustees, via TR1 applications in England and Notice of Titles in Scotland for simply matters, and referring out to third parties for complex instructions.
• Leverage technology and AI to create competitive advantage.
• Stay at the forefront of innovation in the UK Trusts space.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Three (3) years' trust management experience.
• Case management systems experience.
• Work UK hours and take UK Bank holidays.
