Job summary

A mining company in Polokwane is seeking a qualified driver with at least 3 to 4 years of experience in logistics and vehicle safety. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 or equivalent and a Code 14 driver's license. Responsibilities include performing vehicle inspections and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations. This position requires residency in the local municipality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections.
  • Report all incidents & accidents to direct supervisor without delay.
  • Inspect vehicle for defects & safe operating condition.
  • Comply with all the rules of the road.
  • Monitor the vehicle inspection sheet & communicate discrepancies.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections
  • Report all incidents & accidents to direct supervisor without delay
  • Report all unsafe conditions & unsafe acts to supervisor immediately
  • Inspect vehicle for defects & safe operating condition before, during & after trips
  • Submit a written report on the condition of the vehicle at the end of each trip
  • Log mileage pre and post trip
  • Perform all pick-up and off-loading in accordance with company SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Good planning of your trips in respect of time, size of goods & readiness of the right vehicle
  • Comply with all the rules of the road
  • Proper drop off/ delivery of goods from origin to destination
  • Monitor the vehicle inspection sheet & communicate discrepancies to supervisor
  • Monitor the renewal dates of vehicle license discs & report to supervisor
