Travel Specialist | Luxury Safari Tour Company | Sandton

Salary: Negotiable Dependent on Experience

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a Travel Specialist for a leading luxury safari tour company based in Sandton. This role is perfect for a service-driven and detail-oriented individual with a passion for African travel and creating world-class guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Engage professionally with guests, shareholders, staff, and media via phone and email
2. Plan and design bespoke itineraries for clients, internal stakeholders, and journalists
3. Manage reservation requests from initial inquiry to final confirmation, including quoting, invoicing, payment collection, and issuing travel documents
4. Sell the company's full range of travel products and services
5. Deliver exceptional guest service with attention to every detail
6. Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth operations
7. Ensure a maximum turnaround time of 8 working hours for all inquiries
8. Participate in Saturday, public holiday, and emergency duty rotations
9. Provide backup support to team members during absences
10. Continuously expand product knowledge through training and experience
11. Uphold the brand’s values in all interactions and service delivery

Knowledge Required:

1. Strong understanding of Southern and East African travel destinations
2. Familiarity with FIT and Group travel procedures and policies
3. Knowledge of SADC Residents offers and staff travel benefits
4. Experience with Tourplan NX or similar booking systems
5. Working knowledge of WETU and preferably Zoho
6. Strong grasp of sales methodologies and customer journey processes
7. Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative data for business decisions

Skills and Competencies:

1. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal in English)
2. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
3. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
4. Self-driven with strong time management and prioritization skills
5. Capable of creative problem solving and crafting unique guest experiences
6. Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment
7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
8. Strong conflict resolution and client relationship skills
9. Commercial awareness and decision-making capabilities

Experience and Personal Attributes:

1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a tour consulting role
2. Previous experience working with Tourplan NX is advantageous
3. Enthusiastic, energetic, and proactive
4. Methodical and highly attentive to detail
5. Able to work well under pressure and multitask effectively
6. Committed to guest satisfaction and excellence in service
7. High level of responsibility and professionalism
