Job description

Department: Sense of Africa South Africa

Location: Bryanston, Johannesburg

Description

To design, quote for, and book journeys to Southern Africa for travellers via overseas agents.

Responsibilities

1. Assess client needs in terms of special interests, special needs, and affordability/budget.
2. Quote all requested services within the required turnaround time.
3. Make reservations for all requested services.
4. Respond to written requests and provide written confirmations.
5. Load reservations on Tourplan.
6. Ensure confirmation of services with suppliers.
7. Stay in constant communication with agents regarding reservation status, payment requirements, deadlines, and conditions.
8. Arrange Meet and Greets as required.
9. Maintain contact with tour guides throughout the tour.
10. Manage client complaints and emergencies.
11. Maintain contact with agents.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Travel & Tourism qualification is preferable.
• At least 4 years of FIT-Tailor Making Tour consulting experience within the tour operating industry.
• Tourplan knowledge and execution are preferable.

Competency

• Knowledge of customer needs and products.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers for availability and rates.
• Good tourism industry knowledge.
• Excellent South African geographic knowledge.
• Strong touring logistics knowledge.

The salary for this position is competitive and dependent on relevant experience.
