Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer to join a transportation engineering team in Benoni for an internship that covers the design, planning and management of road and transportation infrastructure.

You will work with experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience on real Gauteng projects, and develop practical skills that enhance mobility and connectivity in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering within the last two years.
• Strong academic record with an interest in transportation engineering.
• Basic understanding of road design principles, traffic engineering concepts, and AutoCAD.
• Eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and remotely as needed.
• Eligible to participate in a graduate internship program in Benoni.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of road networks, intersections, and related transportation infrastructure.
• Participate in site investigations, data collection, and traffic analysis under supervision.
• Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and documentation using CAD and other relevant software.
• Support project teams with administrative tasks, research, and basic calculations.
• Learn and apply relevant engineering standards, codes, and project management methodologies.
• Attend project meetings and site visits to gain practical exposure to construction and design processes.
