Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Transportation Engineer to lead urban mobility initiatives from our Pretoria office. You will develop traffic models, design road networks and plan public transport integrations to improve safety and efficiency across Gauteng.

Ideal candidates have a strong analytical mindset, 5+ years in transportation engineering, and proficiency in VISSIM/Aimsun/SIDRA with CAD experience. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with Transportation specialization.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic analysis and design.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software (VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA INTERSECTION).
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) for design.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering, highway design and public transport operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical information clearly.
• Experience on Gauteng projects or similar urban environments is advantageous.
