Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate container collections and deliveries between Durban Harbour, storage facilities, and nationwide destinations
• Manage and optimize fleet scheduling, including local shunting and long-distance operations
• Oversee Transnet harbour yard bookings through the Navis system
• Monitor fleet performance, safety compliance, and cost efficiency
• Coordinate with technical management for vehicle maintenance scheduling
• Track and manage fuel consumption, route adherence, and driver activities
• Provide real-time updates to customers and generate operational reports
• Supervise container turn-in procedures and booking slot management
• Liaise with port terminals and manage depot relationships
• Report to group logistics management in Bloemfontein
Requirements:
• Grade 12 with a valid driver's license
• Minimum 5 years' experience in container logistics, fleet control, or port operations
• Certificate/Diploma in Transport Management or Logistics (advantageous)
• Proven expertise with Navis booking system and port operations
• Proficient in GPS tracking systems and fleet management software
• Strong knowledge of national routes (JHB, CPT, DBN, BLM, PE)
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in generating management reports and analysis
